SafeZone powered by Chubb, combines CriticalArc’s award-winning cloud-based safety, security and emergency management solution with remote monitoring, provided by Chubb and its expert team, 24/7.
The integrated solution is suitable for all organisations, whether their staff work on site alone, from home or within a hybrid structure. Companies without security response teams can rely on Chubb for direct management and assistance, wherever you are, while those with existing on-site security can call on Chubb for additional support.
In this hub, you will find all the information needed to start using the SafeZone app. We strongly encourage its use as your safety is our top priority. Protect People First is one of our core values, and we want to ensure that you return home safely to your loved ones at the end of every workday.
About SafeZone
SafeZone supported by Chubb is a safety and security app that allows you to raise alerts when you need it most. For example, if you are in danger, need medical assistance or in the event of an emergency. Alerts are sent directly to the Chubb Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC), who will call you back to determine the best course of action, which could involve contacting Emergency Services on your behalf.
How to use the buttons
The SafeZone app has 6 distinct buttons:
First Aid
The first aid button can be used if you require medical advice. This button will not raise an alert to the ARC. It will send you a push notification with support resources. However, through this button, you are able to call the emergency services if you require urgent medical assistance.
Test
The test button will always be available to run a test. Whether this is because you want to check that the button actually works, or if you’re in an area where you are unsure about the network connectivity.
Emergency
You can use the emergency button if you require urgent assistance or if you are in a threatening, dangerous or unexpected situation. For example, if you’ve seriously injured yourself or if someone is behaving threateningly towards you which does not seem to be de-escalating.
Check-In Timer
The check-in timer in particular, is a great function of the SafeZone app. Before entering a potentially risky environment, you can press the check-in timer and select a reporting time. On completion of the work, the check-in timer is selected again to reset it. An alert is sent automatically to the ARC if the time runs out before it is reset. The ARC will try to contact you and escalate the situation to a nominated individual (such as your line manager) or a third party to locate your whereabouts and provide assistance.
The check-in timer also includes the ‘incapacity detection’ button. When you toggle this on, if you fall from a height, the app automatically sends an alert to the ARC.
Incident Reporting
To report incidents such as near misses and unsafe working conditions, you can use the Incident Reporting button which will take you to our Incident Reporting Power app. This is important as it helps prevent incidents that could lead to injury or illness. By using the SafeZone app, you can take responsibility for your own safety and that of your colleagues by reporting any unsafe conditions so that corrective action can be taken.
Wellbeing Assistance
The wellbeing assistance button can direct you to a range of wellbeing resources with a click of a button, whether this is support that we have available within the business or external support. For example, this could be a website, a phone number, a counsellor or a triage page.
