Being prepared for a sudden cardiac srrest is not only about purchase and installation of an AED. To help save lives AEDs need to be ready and accessible at all times. First responders should be able to rely on the device and trust that technology will deliver what it is designed for. However, like any other piece of equipment AEDs can experience unexpected failures. Therefore Continuous Monitoring and Maintenance are key.
A unique and innovative patented technology that comes ready installed inside the AED carrying case. It is wireless, connects over mobile network and contains its own power source. Next to AED status, pads and batteries SmartLink can also check temperature and humidity. A status report is sent on a regular basis, with an immediate alert in case the daily check finds any irregularities. In addition SmartLink can also setup a handsfree audio call with the local emergency dispatch for live support (promptly initiated upon removal of the AED) or even localize the AED by GPS if needed.
SmartLink is useful in all kinds of situations, whether in a public access AED project or when an organization has multiple AEDs across several different sites. In fact, it even works across different countries.
The program includes full assistance from planning to implementation, program management and post-event support. The AED, Maintenance, Management and Financing are included under the terms of the agreement. No additional charges to maintain and remotely monitor the unit, including planned replenishment parts (pads and batteries), software upgrades and device replacements.
