Project Overview
Located in Ireland, for over 130 years the leading biopharmaceutical company has been investing in bringing forward medicines and vaccines for many of the world’s most challenging diseases in their pursuit to save and improve lives.
The organisation works at the forefront of science and technology to advance manufacturing excellence with six R&D sites across Ireland and a global company network.
Customer Needs
For over 15 years, Chubb has built a strong relationship with the customer at its site in County Cork by supplying and installing reliable fire alarms, gas detection and life safety systems.
The project came about when the customer’s fire alarm system snowballed due to ongoing expansion and upgrades. During a site visit, Chubb identified challenges with their existing fire alarm system and suggested a smart upgrade.
Solution and Benefits
In September 2022, Chubb commenced the installation of a state-of-the-art, new-generation fibre optic upgrade and network enhancement.
The solution included: sitewide fibre optic cable network upgrade replacement, an upgrade of fire panel network cards, an upgrade of fibre optic enclosures, and panel relocation, where existing hard-to-access fire alarm panels were changed and relocated to accessible and practically located areas.
“Completion of the project resulted in helping the customer stay agile and connected.”
Results
Following the implementation of the new solution, the customer benefitted from:
The project took eight months from start to completion and resulted in a future-proof, newly upgraded fire alarm system, helping the customer stay agile and connected.
