Cookie Notice

Cookie Notice

This “Cookie Notice” (the “Notice”) explains how and why Chubb Group companies (also referred to as “Chubb”, “we”, “our” and “us”) will use different types of cookies and similar technologies on any websites or apps (the “Site”) that we own or control. This Notice also explains how you can manage cookies and similar technologies.

Last Updated: September 2026

We keep this Notice under regular review and may update it at any time. Please take a look at the “Last Updated” section at the top of this Notice to see when it was last changed. Any changes in this Notice will become effective when we make the revised Notice available on or through the Site. We also encourage you to check this Notice on a regular basis. We will notify you of any changes (including when they will take effect) if we are required to do so by data protection or e-privacy laws.

 What are Cookies?

When you visit our website, one or more “cookies” are generated and deployed on your device. Other than cookies that are strictly necessary for the Site to function, we only place cookies on your device after you have given your consent through our cookie banner, and we will act on any change you make to those choices.

Cookies are small files of letters and numbers that are stored on your browser and/or the hard drive of your computer (or other internet-enabled devices, such as a smartphone or tablet) when you visit the Site. A cookie will usually contain the name of the website from which the cookie has come from, the “lifetime” of the cookie (i.e. how long it will remain on your device) and a value, which is usually a randomly generated unique number.

We use cookies to make the Site easier to use and to better tailor our web presence and products to your interests and needs. Cookies are also used to help speed up your future activities and deliver a more personalised experience on the Site.

Some cookies may process your personal data (e.g. IP addresses and other online identifiers). Please see Chubb’s Privacy Notice for further details about how your personal data is processed and your rights in relation to this.

Other cookies are used to compile anonymous, aggregated statistics that allow us to understand how people use our web properties and to help us improve web structure and content. We cannot identify you personally from this information although the same principles apply regarding these cookies.

How We Manage Your Cookie Consent

We use OneTrust, a specialist cookie consent management platform (“CMP”), to tell you which cookies and similar technologies are used on the Site, to ask for your consent where consent is required, and to record and act on the choices you make. OneTrust is used across our websites so that you have a single, consistent way of managing your preferences.

The first time you visit the Site, OneTrust displays a cookie banner. From the banner you can accept all cookies, reject all cookies that are not strictly necessary, or open “Cookie Settings” to turn each category of cookies on or off individually. Cookies in the Strictly Necessary category cannot be switched off, because the Site cannot function properly without them; every other category is switched off until you choose to enable it.

OneTrust records your choices in two strictly necessary cookies, OptanonConsent and OptanonAlertBoxClosed, which are described in the table below. These cookies contain no information that identifies you. Your preferences are remembered for up to 12 months, after which the banner will appear again so that you can confirm or change them. Your preferences are stored in the browser you are using, so if you use more than one browser or device, or clear your browser storage, you will be asked to set them again.

OneTrust also scans the Site regularly and maintains a live, categorised list of every cookie and similar technology in use, including the provider, purpose and duration of each one. Because that list is updated automatically, it is the most accurate and up-to-date record of what is in use at any given time. You can view it, and change your choices, at any time by selecting “Cookie Settings” in the footer of the Site.

Categories of Cookies Used on The Site:

Two types of cookies will be used on the Site, “session cookies” and “persistent cookies”. Session cookies are temporary cookies that remain on your device until you leave this Site. A persistent cookie remains on your device for much longer or until you manually delete it (how long the cookie remains on your device will depend on the duration or “lifetime” of the specific cookie and your browser settings).

We have grouped our cookies into the following categories, to make it easier for you to understand why we use them. These are the same categories that you will see, and can control individually, in our OneTrust cookie preference centre:

  • Strictly Necessary: Cookies that are essential to making the Site work correctly. They enable visitors to move around our Site and use our features. These cookies prevent crashes, display information, fix bugs and ensure the security of our website. Without these cookies, some functions of the website cannot be provided. These cookies do not identify you as an individual, and they do not require your consent, so they cannot be switched off in our preference centre.
  • Functional: Cookies that allow our web properties to recognise you when you return to the Site and ‘remember’ the choices you make (such as your user name, language or the region you are in) to provide a more personalised online experience. If you do not accept these cookies, it may affect Site performance and functionality and may restrict access to web content.
  • Performance: Cookies that help us understand how visitors interact with our web properties by providing information about the areas visited, the time spent on the Site and any issues encountered, such as error messages. They help us improve the performance of our Site, alert us to any concerns and more. They tell us how popular a certain feature is, or whether you open an email we send. These cookies don’t identify you as an individual, unless stated otherwise.
  • Analytics Cookies – Microsoft Clarity: We use analytics cookies provided by Microsoft Clarityto understand how visitors interact with our website. Session replay tools are used solely for website analytics and usability improvement. We configure the tool to minimise the collection of personal data and automatically mask sensitive information fields.

These cookies enable us to:

  • Analyse website usage and visitor journeys
  • Generate heatmaps showing where users click and scroll
  • Identify usability issues and technical errors
  • Review anonymised session replays to improve user experience

The information collected through these cookies may include:

  • Unique cookie identifiers
  • Session identifiers
  • Device and browser information
  • Website interaction data

These cookies are not essential for the operation of the website and are only placed on your device after you provide consent through our OneTrust cookie banner, in accordance with applicable data protection and ePrivacy laws.

You can manage or withdraw your consent at any time through “Cookie Settings” in the footer of the Site. If you withdraw consent:

  • Microsoft Clarity will stop collecting further data; and
  • Microsoft Clarity cookies will no longer be set or accessed.

Data collected prior to withdrawal of consent while consent was valid will be retained in accordance with our retention schedule unless we receive a valid data subject rights request (such as a request for erasure).

The Microsoft Clarity cookies used on the Site are:

Cookie Duration Description
_clck 1 year Set by Microsoft Clarity. Stores a unique Clarity identifier for the Site so that a returning visitor can be recognised across sessions.
_clsk 1 day Set by Microsoft Clarity. Combines multiple page views by the same visitor into a single session recording.
CLID 1 year Set by Microsoft Clarity. Identifies the first time a visitor is seen by Clarity on the Site.
MUID 13 months Set by Microsoft. A unique browser identifier used by Clarity and other Microsoft services to recognise a browser across Microsoft domains.

ANONCHK 10 minutes Set by Microsoft. Records whether the MUID identifier has been transferred and whether cookie-based measurement is in use.
MR 7 days Set by Microsoft. Indicates whether the MUID identifier should be refreshed.

  • Performance Cookies – HubSpot: We use tracking cookies provided by HubSpot to manage website enquiries, form submissions, and to analyse how visitors interact with our website, forms, and marketing communications.

These cookies enable us to:

  • Recognise returning visitors and track their journey across our website
  • Associate website activity with form submissions and enquiries
  • Analyse engagement with our website, forms, and marketing communications
  • Improve our products, services, and customer experience

The information collected through these cookies may include:

  • Unique visitor and session identifiers
  • Website usage and browsing behaviour
  • Form submission and enquiry data
  • Device and browser information

These cookies are not essential for the operation of the website and are only placed on your device after you provide consent through our OneTrust cookie banner, in accordance with applicable data protection and ePrivacy laws.

You can manage or withdraw your consent at any time through “Cookie Settings” in the footer of the Site. If you withdraw consent:

  • HubSpot will stop collecting further data through these cookies; and
  • HubSpot cookies will no longer be set or accessed.

Data collected prior to withdrawal of consent while consent was valid will be retained in accordance with our retention schedule unless we receive a valid data subject rights request (such as a request for erasure).

The HubSpot cookies used on the Site are (please verify against the current OneTrust scan before publication):

Cookie Duration Description
hubspotutk 13 months Set by HubSpot. Keeps track of a visitor’s identity and is used for contact management and to associate website activity with form submissions.
__hstc 6 months Set by HubSpot. The main analytics cookie, used to track visitors and their behaviour across sessions and visits to the Site.

__hssrc Session Set by HubSpot. Used to determine if the visitor has restarted their browser; helps identify whether a new session should begin.
  • Targeting: Cookies that are used to provide visitors with relevant ads and marketing campaigns. These cookies track visitors across websites and collect information to provide customised advertisements. They may be set by us or by the advertising partners listed in this Notice.

Cookies on this Site

The tables in this Notice list the cookies set by the tools we use to manage your consent and to understand how the Site is used. Because the cookies on the Site change over time, the complete and current list – including the provider, purpose and duration of every cookie, and whether it involves the transfer of information to a third party – is held in our OneTrust cookie preference centre, which you can open at any time by selecting “Cookie Settings” in the footer of the Site.

Strictly necessary cookies are essential for the website to function properly. They ensure basic functionality and security, and they do not require your consent. The table below lists the cookies set by OneTrust to operate our cookie banner and to record the choices you make.

Cookie Duration Description
OptanonConsent 12 months Set by OneTrust, the cookie consent management platform we use. It records which categories of cookies the Site uses and whether you have given or withdrawn consent for each category, so that cookies in a category you have not consented to are not set in your browser. It contains no information that identifies you.
OptanonAlertBoxClosed 12 months Set by OneTrust. It records that you have seen the cookie banner and made your choices, so that the banner is not shown to you again unnecessarily. It contains no personal information.

Other strictly necessary cookies may be set by the platforms that host, secure and support the Site – for example our content delivery and bot-protection provider, our live chat provider and our web font provider. Targeting and advertising cookies may be in use on certain Chubb websites, but not all; where they are used, they are set only after you have enabled the Targeting category in our cookie preference centre.

The third parties below may set cookies or similar technologies on the Site. They include, for example, consent management, analytics and advertising providers and providers of external services such as live chat, embedded video and web fonts. They are shown under the category they fall into in our cookie preference centre. This list reflects the providers identified by the most recent OneTrust scan of our UK and Ireland websites; the preference centre always holds the current list:

  • Strictly Necessary – OneTrust (cookie consent management), LiveChat (live chat), Cloudflare (bot protection and traffic management) and MyFonts (web font hosting).
  • Functional – Microsoft Clarity and Elfsight (embedded widgets).
  • Performance – Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, Microsoft Advertising (UET), HubSpot, Hotjar, Matomo, SearchWP Metrics and FlareTrk.
  • Targeting – Google Ads and Google Marketing Platform (including DoubleClick), Microsoft Advertising (Bing), LinkedIn, Meta (Facebook), NextRoll/AdRoll, YouTube, Index Exchange (Casale Media), PubMatic, Tapad, Eyeota, Outbrain and Google reCAPTCHA.

Third-party partners, to include but not limited to NextRoll, help us recognise your device and understand how you use our site(s) so that we can improve our services to reflect your interests and serve you advertisements about the products and/or services that are likely to be of more interest to you. Specifically, NextRoll and these partners collect information about your activity on our site(s) to enable us to:

  • measure and analyse traffic and browsing activity on our site(s);
  • show advertisements for our products and/or services to you on third-party sites;
  • measure and analyse the performance of our advertising campaigns;

To read more about the technologies used by NextRoll please refer to NextRoll’s Privacy Notice.

Opting-Out

Our partners, to include but not limited to NextRoll may use non-cookie technologies that may not be impacted by browser settings that block cookies. Your browser may not permit you to block such technologies. For this reason, you can use the following third party tools to decline the collection and use of information for the purpose of serving you interest based advertising:

Managing Cookies on Your Device

When you access Chubb websites for the first time, you will be prompted to make decisions on your cookie preferences through the OneTrust cookie banner that appears on your screen. Whilst strictly necessary cookies will always be enabled, you can make your own choices about every other category. After your first visit, you may occasionally be asked to reconfirm your cookie preferences on future visits to the websites.

You can review or change your choices at any time by selecting “Cookie Settings” in the footer of the Site. This opens the OneTrust preference centre, where you can see every cookie in use, grouped by category and provider, together with its purpose and how long it lasts, and switch any category other than Strictly Necessary on or off. Your new choices take effect immediately and we will stop setting cookies in any category you turn off.

Turning a category off stops new cookies in that category from being set, but it does not delete cookies that are already stored on your device. If you want to remove those, you can clear them through your browser settings. Because your preferences are stored on the device and in the browser you used to set them, you will need to set them again if you use a different device or browser, or if you clear your browser storage.

You can also manage which optional cookies are deployed on your device at any time. To do this you can set browser settings accordingly. Guidance on how to control cookies for common browsers can be found online.

You can also opt out of Google Analytics across all websites by clicking http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

For information on additional browsers and device types please see http://www.aboutcookies.org or http://www.cookiecentral.com/faq/.

Please be aware that if you disable cookies that we use, this may impact your user experience while using the Site and could also mean that you may not be able to access all or parts of our website.

If you have any questions about this Notice, about the cookies used on the Site, or about how we handle your personal data, please contact us using the details set out in Chubb’s Privacy Notice.
