Project Overview
Barking & Dagenham College is a further education establishment split across four sites in Barking, Romford and Dagenham. The college offers hundreds of courses at a variety of levels to approximately 12,000 students.
- A trusted partner to give technical advice and keep the many staff and students safe
- A versatile security system for multiple sites
- Single point of contact 2
- 4/7 support for maintaining fire safety systems
- The college’s varied locations and high population meant it required an access control system that was suitable for monitoring all staff, students and visitors that entered any of its sites.
Chubb’s range of audio and visual fire alarms are designed to meet aesthetic and practical requirements and perform to a high standard within today’s advanced technology fire safety systems. Within the contract, Chubb continuously assesses the compliance and recommends upgrades as appropriate to keep the site up to date. Chubb installed an Entry Level Access control system that relied on all members of the college to be issued with, and carry with them, personal ID cards that will validate access for the user when the card is held in close proximity of a reader. The system also makes it easier for the security team to identify intruders. The college’s CCTV system and intruder alarms were also updated allowing for footage to be stored, simultaneous recording and playback, quick and easy image search and retrieval and remote viewing via Ethernet. Cameras are installed around the multiple sites to ensure student, staff and visitor safety.
“We continue to work with Chubb because the service levels are excellent, and any problems are dealt with immediately and resolved. I also have a single point of contact, which further improves communication and speed of response,” said Robert North, Security Manager at the Barking & Dagenham College.
