Chubb has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Employer of the Year category at this year’s Multicultural Apprenticeship Awards.
The Multicultural Apprenticeship Awards aims to showcase talent and diversity within multicultural communities through the celebration of those working hard to overcome adversity to achieve their goals through apprenticeships. The awards highlight the achievements of apprentices and the contribution of employers and learning providers who have assisted them along their journey. “We are absolutely delighted to be shortlisted as a finalist,” said Jim McSharry, Early Careers Manager. “This recognition is a testament to our ongoing commitment to providing equal opportunities and comprehensive training for individuals from all walks of life, irrespective of age, race, or how they identify. “At Chubb, we firmly believe that diversity and inclusion are not just buzzwords but fundamental pillars that drive innovation, foster creativity, and create a harmonious work environment.
We embrace and celebrate the unique perspectives and experiences each individual brings to our team, recognising the immense value it adds to our collective success.” Chubb has a long history of offering apprenticeship opportunities, with its current programme running since 1995. Chubb’s commitment to providing a unique apprenticeship programme shines through as they reached the momentous achievement of enrolling their 600th apprentice just last year. Apprentices can choose from an exciting mix of roles, including business administration, marketing, sales, finance, IT and field-based roles as fire and security engineers. After finishing their initial programme, apprentices have clear pathways for further study, from Level 3 right the way up to higher degree-level qualifications or they could choose to secure permanent positions within the company.
Kirsty Brooks, Director, Employee Experience & Development commented, “Our dedicated Learning and Development team provides unwavering support for all of our employees and demonstrates passion, dedication, and determination to empower individuals through training and apprenticeships to help our people develop their skills, unlock their potential, and build fulfilling careers. “When we enrol new apprentices, they gain access to a vast amount of industry expertise. We have numerous fire and security engineers with decades of experience, some having been with the company for over 40 years. These seasoned professionals serve as mentors to the apprentices, imparting their valuable knowledge. “We eagerly look forward to the celebration event later this year, where we will join other remarkable companies in celebrating excellence and promoting equality.” Chubb recognises the importance of apprenticeship programmes and is committed to Building Great Leaders of the future so they can help make the world a better place.
