Fire safety knowledge is an essential workplace requirement, and it is the employer’s responsibility to ensure all staff have received at least a basic level of fire safety awareness training. During a Chubb fire risk assessment, a consultant will recommend the frequency for your workplace fire training to be repeated and refreshed, typically once or twice annually.
Chubb’s range of fire safety awareness training courses can all be tailored to the needs of your premises, following the latest guidance to meet an employer’s legal responsibilities. Training can be carried out online or at your premises, and delivered alongside videos and questionnaires to aid understanding.
Employees will gain the confidence to safeguard themselves and others from fires. All attendees will be given a fire safety awareness training certification for completing their courses.
Chubb’s basic fire safety course will include essential fire science and practical fire extinguisher training. You will learn about your personal responsibilities, how to act if you discover a fire, and how to choose an appropriate extinguisher.
Chubb also recommends that key members of staff be trained to Fire Marshal level. The same basic training will be covered but in far greater detail. Further training on fire prevention, the role and responsibilities of a Fire Marshal, and evacuation and sweeping procedure will also be covered.
Chubb offer practical fire extinguisher safety training, during which you will get to extinguish a controlled fire yourself. Understanding fire classes, their corresponding extinguisher types, and correct operation technique is essential to keeping yourself safe from harm when tackling a fire.
Chubb offers a four-day Fire Extinguisher Servicing Training course to BS5306 Part 3 requirements, giving you the skills to service portable extinguishers. This course can be completed at your site or our training centre (where the first-time pass rate is higher) and will end with a BAFE examination in the Theory and Practice of Servicing Portable Fire Extinguishers.
