Powder Fire Extinguishers

 

Dry powder fire extinguishers are extremely versatile as they can tackle the following fire risks:

  • Class A: fires involving freely burning materials such as wood, paper, textiles and carbonaceous materials.
  • Class B: fires involving flammable liquids such as petrol and spirits.
  • Class C: fires involving flammable gases such as butane and propane.
  • Electrical fires: involving electrical equipment such as computers and photocopiers.

Chubb Lith-X class ‘D’ metal fire extinguisher

Metal fires typically involve extremely high temperatures and are difficult to control. Standard liquid fire extinguishing agents cannot safely be used as they may cause an explosion.Chubb’s Class ‘D’ metal fire extinguishers contain a powder extinguishing agent that safely and effectively suppresses fire and prevents re-ignition.
